Flank Steak is not as tender as the loin or rib steaks, but it can be a tender steak if you marinate, broil and cut it properly. That's why I prefer to marinade the flank steak with a lot of ingredients such as vinegar, ginger, lemon joice etc before cooking flank steak. The marinaded steak has a great balance of acid, oil and spices.

How To Cook - Cooking A Flank Steak

  • Choose a bright red color, firm flank steak instead of the purple one

  • Marinaded Flank Steak first before cooking

  • Make sure the marinade reaches all parts of the flank steak

  • Follow the steps of above marinade steaks unitl ready to cook

  • BROIL FLANK STEAK.

  • Place the flank steak on a broiling skillet

  • Cooking flank steak each side for 6 minutes for medium rare

  • Refere Steak Doneness if you want to cook it rare, medium, medium well

  • As the flank steak is a tough cut steak, normally don't cook it too well done

  • BAKE FLANK STEAK.

  • Get ready the stuffing mix and put it evenly on top of flank steak

  • Roll up the flank steak tightly and tie it up with strings

  • Slice the flank steak after baking

  • STIR FRIED FLANK STEAK.

  • Slice the flank steak into 2 inch pieces

  • Coat the steak with vegetable oil and cornstarch

  • Add soy sauce, salt and sugar to further coat the flank steak

  • Cook the sliced coated flank steak and cook at high heat for 30 minutes

  • Add the pre-cooked stir fried vegetables and mix well

  • Cook another 5 minutes until done
